Sought after and highly collectible Simmons steel desk designed by Norman Bel Geddes in the late 1930s- 1940s has an Art Deco waterfall top style and color palette. Original DuPont enamel and brass and chrome hardware. These pieces were designed for hotels and built to last. The rails that hold the drawer are wood for a smooth glide. Piece has been scrubbed (a little too hard in the back) and given a coat of wax. This style was featured in the movie “Taxi Driver” in the 1970s and it is rare to find them with the original paint.
